The State Employee Group Insurance Program (SEGIP) provides comprehensive health benefits and excellent medical and dental coverage.
- Eligible new hirers qualify for coverage at their 31st day of employment with the State of Minnesota.
- Employee may be automatically enrolled in health care coverage unless they qualify and complete wavier of medical insurance. The waiver form is available on the SEGIP website.
This optional benefit is available to eligible employees and family members, whether you’re enrolled in the state’s insurance or covered elsewhere.
The state offers basic group term life insurance and the option to purchase additional coverage for the employee, spouse, or dependent children.
